The 2022 NCAA softball tournament regional round was thrilling. There were some upsets, like the two-game sweep by Mississippi State over No. 2 Florida State. There were blowouts like the No. 1 Oklahoma’s 20-0 victory over Texas A&M

The real test is now. May 26th is the start of super regionals. Only one weekend is left for teams to achieve Oklahoma City glory.

Super regional hosts for the NCAA softball tournament 2022

Each regional winner was selected for the super regionals. These are the best-of-three series at a higher seed.

The eight regional winners will move on to the Women’s College World Series which begins June 2. These eight teams will then compete in double-elimination brackets, to determine which two teams will be competing for the NCAA title.

There have been a few surprises in the tournament already. Stanford was able to escape a bracket that included No. 6 seed Alabama, while Mississippi State shocked No. 2 Florida State will advance to the next round.
